Two Histories. One Future.

Though founded separately, Levin Furniture and John V. Schultz were built on the same values: exceptional service, quality products, and a commitment to their communities.

    Levin Furniture & Mattress

Founded by Sam and Jessie Levin in 1920, what began as a single storefront in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania grew into one of the region's leading home furnishings retailers. The company remained family-owned for generations under third-generation owner Robert Levin until his retirement in 2017.

Moving Forward Together

Levin faced its greatest challenge in 2020 when Art Van Furniture, which had acquired the company following Robert Levin's retirement, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Stores closed, employees were displaced, and thousands of customers were left with undelivered orders and deposits. Determined to preserve the brand, Robert Levin partnered with Matt and John Schultz to reacquire and relaunch the business, uniting the Levin and John V. Schultz brands. Together, they restored customer confidence, protected hundreds of jobs, and preserved a century-old legacy.

Rooted in Community

Giving back has always been central to the company's culture. Through partnerships with children's hospitals, food banks, and local charities, Levin and John V. Schultz proudly support the communities that have supported them for generations.

Building a More Sustainable Future

Levin Furniture and John V. Schultz are committed to building a more sustainable future through environmentally responsible operations. A large-scale solar array supplies approximately 70% of the annual electricity used by the distribution center, while Styrofoam densification equipment and expanded recycling initiatives help reduce waste and improve operational efficiency.
